Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on August 22, 2022 at the age of 91.
Loving husband and best friend of Marina for 61 years. Cherished father of Noemi (Oscar) Legaspi, Emo (Kathy) Yango, Vivian (Robert) Dalpe, and Val Acoba Jr. Proud grandpa of many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dear brother of the late Estrella (late Dominador) Topacio, the late Nora (late Salvador) Yango, and Meliton Jr. (Gladys) Acoba. He will also be missed by extended family, nieces, nephews and friends.
Valerio retired from the former LaFontaine, Cowie, Buratto & Associates Consulting Engineers. He was the founder of the former Friendly Bowling League, Basketball Team and Baseball Team of Windsor. Valerio was a former piano player of the Filipino Community Choir, program leader of the Life After Fifty Singers, founder and pianist of the Harbour Lights Singers and the Wednesday Piano and Singers Group.
Visitation will take place at Families First Funeral Home in East Windsor (1065 Lauzon Rd. 519-969-5841) on Friday, August 26, 2022 from 3 – 5 and 7 – 9 p.m. with parish prayers at 4 p.m. and community prayers at 7:30 p.m. Friends and family are welcome to meet directly at Our Lady of Guadalupe church (834 Raymo Rd.) on Saturday, August 27, 2022 for the funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
