Ulric LeBlanc 19432022

Ulric LeBlanc
1943-2022
Ulric Joseph LeBlanc, of Bouctouche died peacefully on Saturday,
January 29th, 2022, at the Stella- Maris-de-Kent Hospital in
Sainte-Anne-De-Kent. He was 78 years old.
His family extends their deep appreciation to the exceptional medical
staff of doctors and nurses for their care for him during his
year-long stay.
“U-Lee” as he was affectionately known, was born in
Bouctouche, on May 8th, 1943, the youngest of fifteen children born to
the late Alyre LeBlanc and Emma LeBlanc.
Raised and educated in the East End of Moncton, Ulric later moved to
Waltham MA where he enlisted in the United States Marines. After
receiving a medical discharge, he and his late wife, Rachel Gautreau,
married on February 22nd, 1967, at the Saint Charles Borromeo church
in Waltham MA and enjoyed 36 years together until Rachel’s death
in 2003.
Fiercely loyal to his family and friends, Ulric was a headstrong,
straight shooter who did not mince words – you knew where you stood
with Uric. He was a man before his time, having an interest in
environmental issues before they became as common place as they are
today. He had a true passion for the game of baseball, often
listening to games on his old transistor radio when he could not watch
them on TV. He loved a good cup of black coffee, old cars and
antiques, nature, watching PBS programs, discussing current events and
hosting bonfires with family and friends by the “shore”.
Like his grandfather and father before him, he was a true drummer at
heart, even if his Ludwig drum set was not available, he would keep
beat and rhythm with his hands and feet on a table or tambourine. In
the last months of his life, he requested that his beloved drum set,
that he had sold as a younger man, be found, and returned to him.
Family members of Ulric know this was a serious demand!
Ulric will be missed by his children, Nadine LeBlanc of Westford, MA,
James LeBlanc (Geraldine) of Saint-Antoine, Brenden LeBlanc of
Lakeville; his beloved grandchildren, Jessica Melanson, Emma and
Miguel LeBlanc; his last remaining siblings Margaret Maillet and
Gervais LeBlanc of Moncton and many nieces and nephews, near and dear
to his heart.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings;
Gilberte, Yolande, Therese, Benoite, Fernande, Leonette, Elmo,
Valerie, Jean-Paul & three siblings during infancy.
We know that our friends and family would gather with us, if asked,
but prefer that everyone stay safe until we can meet and celebrate
Ulric’s life this summer.
In lieu of flowers, please donate food to your local food pantry.
Send Ulric your positive energy by playing some music like he would
have loved or consider planting a tree in his memory.
