Obituary
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we speak of the unexpected passing of Travis Sigurd Fossheim, Our beloved Son, Dad, Brother, Grandson, Uncle, Nephew & Friend.
Travis Passed Away on February 11, 2022, in Gibsons BC. At the young age of 26. Prior to moving Travis grew up in Edson AB.
Travis was born in Hinton, Alberta on November 30th, 1995, to Doug & Tammy Fossheim where he joined his 3 sisters Jennifer, Stephanie & Kendra, and soon after became a big brother to Nicole. Travis grew up on the Family Farm Northeast of Edson where he grew a love for the outdoors.
Travis is predeceased by his Great Grandparents Leonard & Edna McConnell, Grandma Sharon McConnell (Leverington), Grandparents Sigurd & Wanda Fossheim, Uncle Brian Fossheim and several Shunda Creek Brothers.
He will be missed greatly by his Parents Doug & Tammy, his 3 year old son, Joshua Douglas Allen Fossheim of Hinton AB, Sisters Jennifer McConnell (Niece Kaylie), Stephanie Fossheim (Nephews Owen, Liam & Wyatt), Kendra Fossheim (Levi Mattson), Nicole Fossheim (Brad Faryna) of Edson, AB. Many Uncles, Aunts, cousins, Lifelong Friends & Special Brothers.
From a very young age Travis was always on the go & never sat in one spot for too long. One of our fondest memories was when he was only 4, mom & dad were frantically looking for him around the whole farmyard only to find him perched up in the combine watching. The time he got a brand-new bike and took it all apart just to put it back together again, or the countless hours he spent out on the trails around home, we knew if we went out 4x4ing with him we would never be lost. Throughout Travis’s life he enjoyed all kinds of activities, and he was always up for learning new hobbies from, BMXing, snaring & squirrel hunting to Dirt biking, picking huckleberries and joining many sports like, wrestling, rugby, soccer, baseball & volleyball.
June 15th, 2018, in Hinton AB, was the proudest day of Travis’s life when he welcomed his son Josh into the world. Spending time with Josh, whether it be cuddling on the couch, roughhousing & giggling, going for drives, quad rides or talking on Facetime, this was something that filled Travis with so much purpose & joy. The smile on Travis’s face was never missed when he was surrounded by his son.
It didn’t take long for Travis to become a hard worker, he enjoyed staying busy and finding the things he was good at. When he was younger, he would go around our community asking our neighbours if they had any work for him to do, and that is when he found his passion for welding. After completing Highschool Travis’s passion for welding took him on many adventures, becoming a structural welder, working at heights, moving up to the Yukon and working in a Gold Mine, finally culminating with developing the skills to manage crews and to complete large projects.
It was in 2020 where Travis’s love for welding lead him to start his business, Cedar Welding on the Sunshine Coast where he truly left his mark with the projects he completed and quickly became an asset for many businesses. We believe Travis truly mastered his craft in every project he created. We know his work was always done with longevity and integrity in mind.
Travis crossed paths with many people & never left as a stranger. The stories and memories everyone has shared with us we know Travis will truly be missed by many.
As our only son, Travis was a true gift that will be treasured forever. You made us proud in your walk of life, and there will always be a missing piece to our family puzzle. You left us much too soon and you will be terribly missed.
