Tom Thomas Hanna January 19 1930 – August 10 2022

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Tom Hanna. Tom passed away peacefully on August 10, 2022 at the age of 92.
Predeceased by his loving wife Barbara, son Brian, parents John and Margaret (Maggie) Hanna, and siblings William (Bill), Mary, Elizabeth (Beth), Bingham (Bing), James (Jim) and Margaret. Tom will be lovingly be remembered by his daughter Margaret Matthews (Ryan), daughter-in-law Dilys Hanna and his grandchildren, who were the pride of his life, Elyse Guzek (Gustav), Brett Matthews, Blythe Hanna and great granddaughter Pretoria Guzek.
Tom was born in New Westminster, BC. Over the years Tom was active and enjoyed playing baseball, golf, curling, bowling, following sports, reading, conversation, walking and spending time with family and friends. Tom retired in 1992 after a 44 year career with MacMillan Bloedel Ltd. His career took him and his family to many wonderful communities, including Coquitlam, Port Alberni, New Westminster, Nanaimo and back to New Westminster where he and Barbara spent their retirement years. Tom was known to family and friends as a caring, honest man with a good heart.
The family wish to send a heartfelt thank-you to his companion caregivers and all health care professionals that were dedicated to Tom’s care.
In accordance with Tom’s wishes, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom’s memory can be made to the Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation or Parkinson Society BC.
