Timothy Woodhead of Welland, a man devoted to God and family, passed peacefully at St. Catharines General Hospital in his 70th year surrounded by those that adored him. He is predeceased by his parents Leonard and Geraldine Woodhead, Welland and his mother and father-in-law John and Jackie Mathieson, Stratford.
He is survived by the love of his life of 43 years, Madeline (nee Mathieson); children Sean (Carissa), Stratford and James (Bailey) and their son Harlan of Port Colborne; brothers- and sisters-in-law Paul and Colleen Mathieson, Stratford, Frank and Kimm Mathieson, Stratford, Bob and Melanie Mathieson, Thunder Bay, Anne-Marie and Steve Fulton, Stratford, Helen and Paul Fulton, Stratford, Don Mathieson and Bill McCreight, Kitchener; Dan and Carolyn Mathieson, Stratford; and Mark Mathieson, Lake Forest, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews. Tim enjoyed decades of service in the Ontario government. He took great pride as a piper with the Niagara Regional Police Pipes and Drums, and later with the Welland Pipe Band. Wanting to help others find the best in themselves, Tim was a teacher to many of those around him. His legacy will not be forgotten.
Family and friends will be received at H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Monday, October 3, 2022, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 11am. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Stratford Perth Community Foundation (Mathieson Family Fund).
