Obituary
It is with profound sadness and disbelief that the Family of Thomas Edward Gillan announces his sudden and unexpected passing on August 3, 2022.
First born son to Wilfred and Marie Gillan of Walkers Point, Tom was the ultimate Big Brother to Paul Gillan (Annette) and Ross Gillan. Uncle Tom cherished his only nephew Morgan Gillan and was thrilled when Morgan became old enough to start Dogging at their beloved Hunt Camp.
As an avid hunter and fisherman, Tom was most at peace when he was at the hunt camp. Although travelling to the hunt camp was an all day affair and hard on the back, he made sure it was solid comfort once he was there. In recent years Tom became an accomplished vegetable gardener and would spend all of his free time picking and sharing the spoils from his ever growing garden “Up on the hill.”
While owning and operating a successful construction company, Tom forged lifelong friendships with many of his clients. Endlessly patient and insisting on the highest quality made Tom a much sought after Contractor on Lake Muskoka for over 35 years.
At the young age of 63, Tom was just easing into his retirement years and looking forward to the hunting and fishing trips that he had been planning for years. Although he has left us way too soon, he will be missed forever but never forgotten.
Tom wished to be cremated and will be intered into the Family Plot at Mickle Memorial Cemetery. An Interment ceremony will take place at a later date when the family has had time to absorb their sudden loss.
If you wish, memorial donations may be made to the following organizations that Tom was passionate about:
Ontario Angler and Hunters Association, SMMH Foundation, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Thomas Tom Edward Gillan July 29 1959 August 3 2022 (age 63)..
