In loving memory of Thomas Edward Yeo who passed away peacefully while holding his wife’s hand on November 28, 2022 in London, Ontario at the age of 42 after a long battle awaiting a transplant.
Tom, Thomas, Tommy, Tommasina (to some), never once complained about his illness and lived his life to the fullest.
He had a passion to go fast, whether on the watercraft at Trout Lake, the local snowmobile trails, in an exotic car on a track, or on the pavement in his vehicle. And to say he took pride in his vehicles, would be an understatement. If by chance you saw Tom driving a dirty car, it was rare! He was probably too busy and likely on his way home to wash it.
He loved watching all sports and was a huge fan of the Detroit Red Wings and Formula 1 racing. Now, he also cheered for whoever Ben was cheering for. Much time was spent down at the Sudbury Arena, cheering on the Wolves and let’s not forget getting Ben “high fives” from the players before each period.
In the last couple of years, he took great pride in helping Ben’s hockey teams, both on the ice and in a managerial role. He was definitely one proud hockey Dad!
Time spent with family, traveling and exploring new places or with Ben, whether at the driving range hitting a bucket of balls, on skates at the ODR, or cracking packs of hockey cards, were happy times.
Tom was a member of the Sudbury Credit Union family and took great pride in his work there as a Financial Advisor and as a Member Service Representative prior to that.
Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Cousin, Colleague, and Friend. He wore all of these hats proudly.
Beloved husband and best friend of Dr. Melissa Stonley. Loving father of Benjamin Yeo. Cherished son of Douglas and Sandra (predeceased) Yeo. Adored brother of Melissa DiCarlantonio (husband Jeffrey) and dear uncle of Anakin and Violet DiCarlantonio. Much loved son-in-law of Kenneth and Janet Stonley.
A funeral mass will be held at St Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 40 Notre Dame Ave, Sudbury on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at 10 a.m. A celebration of life will follow at Science North. Cremation with entombment in the Civic Cemetery Mausoleum. No funeral home visitation.
In remembrance of Thomas and in lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the London Health Sciences Foundation – Love your Liver Campaign, an initiative to increase the number of organs that can be used for life saving transplants.
Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
