September 5, 1956- November 8, 2022
On Tuesday November 8th 2022, Tom Birkbeck, unexpectedly passed away at the age of sixty-six.
Tom was born and raised on a family farm in Mayerthorpe, Alberta and was the middle of nine children. In addition to driving CAT, he spent all his life farming and took pride in serving his community as a board member for several organizations. He was a UFA Delegate and Second Vice Chair of the Mayerthorpe and District Rural Electrification Association and Chairman of the TRL Gas Co-Op.
Tom will be deeply missed by family and friends who loved him for his great story telling and sense of humor. His “Dad jokes” and teasing will be fondly remembered by those who were fortunate to experience them.
Tom will be missed beyond words by his wife of 35 years, Constance, his daughters: Carrie (Andrew) and Jaclyn, his son Quinton, and his two precious grandchildren Oliver and Brianna. He also leaves behind four brothers and four sisters: Phil (Bernice), Shirley (Rick), Bob (Terri), Terry, Connie (Larry), Judy (Rene), Ken (Cindy) and Sherri, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be a memorial service held on Thursday December 8, 2022 at 11 am at Anselmo Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
