Theodore Ted Raymond O'Neill Friday July 8 2022 avis de deces

Theodore (Ted) Raymond O’Neill
June 28th, 1940 – July 8th, 2022
Theodore Raymond O’Neill passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones at Campbell House, Hospice in Collingwood, on Friday, July 8th, 2022. Ted was born in Port Arthur on June 28th, 1940, to Raymond and Marjorie (Barr). Ted graduated from the University of Manitoba, where he met his true love, Alexie (Lexie) Mae MacIntosh, who was attending teachers’ college. They married in Winnipeg and subsequently moved to Ontario, settling in Mississauga. This was a busy time as Ted pursued his career with Eaton’s, where he travelled internationally as a sporting goods buyer, and they started their family.
Ted’s retail experience led him to a distinguished 30- year career as a Canadian Tire dealer in five different stores (Acton, Goderich, Windsor, Scarborough, and Whitby). He served in various leadership roles representing his fellow dealers for many years. He was a member of Rotary International and made meaningful contributions to the many communities in which he lived.
Ted’s tenacity and belief in the importance of hard work were evident throughout his life, and in everything he set his mind to accomplish. He shared this belief with his children and grandchildren and taught them that they could be or do anything if they aimed high, remained determined, and worked hard. He was a man of few words, but he always took the time to listen, and when he spoke, he offered wise insights and advice.
Ted enjoyed his leisure time, and his most treasured moments were spent with friends and family on the golf course, at Madeira Beach, Florida, and Tea Lake where friends and loved ones gathered for epic meals, competitive card games, and late-night stories around the bonfire.
The family came first with Ted. He was the devoted husband of Lexie, who pre-deceased him in 2003 and the cherished father of Bradley (Alana), Jason (Jennifer), Christopher (Christina), and Jillian (Ron), and the adored grandfather to Wilson, Alexie (aka Rosie) Maeve, Alexandra, Jack, Ethan, Kenzie, Molly, Sam, and Cooper. Ted met Diane Ross in early 2019, and they shared a loving relationship cut too short. Throughout their relationship, Diane’s kindness, support, and commitment to Ted will always be remembered. He was pre-deceased by his father, Raymond, and his mother, Marjorie, and is survived by his brother, Dennis (Helen).
The family would like to thank Dr. Russell and the healthcare professionals at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre’s Cancer Centre, Dr. McLauchlin, Collingwood Hospital, and the team under her care at Hospice Georgian Triangle, Campbell House. A special thanks to Dr. John Waldron. A celebration of Ted’s life will be held in the fall. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honour would be welcomed at RVH’s Cancer Centre, with funds being directed to purchase a PET-CT scanner, to Hospice Georgian Triangle or the charity of your choice.
Ted will forever be in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
