Thelma Lee Sweet Irick ton – age 73 of Knoxville went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Saturday, September 24, 2022, on her birthday. Lee was a friend to many and always had a kind word to all.
Preceded in death by parents, James and Josephine Steadman Sweet; brother, Jim, David, and Bill Sweet; and daughter, Melissa Irick.
Survived by husband of 49 years, Ray ton; son, Allan Irick; daughters, Carla (Clint) Loveday, Stephanie ton; grandchildren, Josie Loveday, Liam Loveday, Titus Loveday, Glace White, Phoenix White, Trilogy White, David Burleson, Josh Burleson, and Ashley Burleson; great grandchildren, Eliza and Eviana Burleson; Noah and Lennox Burleson; Shelby and Kylie Branch, Cayden and Carlie Burleson; brother, Mike (Barbara) Sweet; sisters, Stella Blake, Wanda Moore, Sandra Tindell, Jodie Mason, Vicky Dockery, Brenda (Phil) Burnett, and Francis (Mike) Whitson.
There will be a Celebration of Life 6:00-7:00 PM on Monday, October 3, 2022, at Southside Baptist Church. Birthday cake and refreshments will be served at this time. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Luke Wilkerson and Rev. Clarence Gresham officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:45 PM on Tuesday at East TN Veterans Cemetery – John Sevier Highway for a 2:00 PM graveside service. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the Southside Baptist Church Missions Program.
