Terry’s Obituary
BALCOM, Terry Lee – 73 of Nictaux, Annapolis Co., passed away on Saturday, February 05, 2022, at home with his wife by his side. It is with great sadness what we say goodbye until we meet again. Born in Nictaux, he was a son of the late Charles and Dorothy (Mailman) Balcom. In his younger years, Terry had an interest in tinkering and working on older cars. He especially enjoyed working and helping his father in the salvage yard that his father owned. He was an outdoor enthusiast, hunting, flyfishing and gardening to name a few of the activities Terry loved. Terry was a family man, enjoying time spent at the family camp and boating on Waterloo Lake. He had a special bond with his beloved little dog “Tinkerbell” sneaking a treat or two whenever he had a chance. Terry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Laverne (Conn); daughter, Margo (Drew) Armstrong, Woodlawn; son, Timothy Balcom, Lawrencetown; sister, Alma F. Aalders, Greenwich; brothers, Charles H. “Jr.” Balcom (Marilyn Hibbs), Nictaux and Joseph E. Balcom, Middleton; four grandchildren, Mitchell (Misti McBride), Matthew (Brittney Speelman), Nicholas (Jessica Burns), Miranda; and many beautiful great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Terry was predeceased by sister, Marjorie Pelton and brother, Bert I. Balcom. In keeping with Terry’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a private family gathering later date. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Mid-Valley Palliative Care or Victorian Order of Nurses ~ Annapolis Valley Branch. Family would like to say a special thank you to Louise, Sherry and Anna, Dr. Kevin McGuire, Helen and the girls at Ambulatory Care, Paramedics Julia and Bryden who were angels as well as the Middleton Funeral Home.
