Terrence Terry John Bird Friday April 8th 2022

After a long hard-fought battle with an unidentified neurodegenerative condition, Terry Bird passed away at Meadowood Manor on Friday, April 8, 2022.
Terry is survived by his sons, Scott Bird (Liz) (granddaughter Charlotte), Brett Bird and their mother, Dorothy Bird. He is also survived by his daughter from a previous marriage, Chauntelle Marykuca (Ben) (grandson Hunter).
Terry was born in Winnipeg and raised in Norwood by his parents John and Ivy (Tapping) Bird. His fondest childhood memories were of boy scout camping and spending time at Brereton Lake with his cousins and friends.
Terry was a friendly sociable person who loved to hear and tell jokes. His gregarious personality led him to a career in sales, mostly in the insurance and automobile industries. Following his sales career, Terry worked at Club Regent in various capacities.
Most of Terry’s favourite activities were related to water. He enjoyed swimming, boating, canoeing, waterskiing and scuba diving. When his condition prevented him from participating in these activities, he loved to spend time watching his collection of movies.
In accordance with Terry’s wishes, cremation will take place and his ashes will be scattered at Brereton Lake.
The family would like to thank the staff of Meadowood Manor for the care and comfort provided to Terry over the past four years.
