It is with great sadness that the family of Tadeusz “Ted” Jozef Baran announces his sudden but peaceful passing at his home on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at the age of 82. Survived by his son Arthur Baran and his wife Winnie, grandsons Darren and David and nieces Bozena and Zdzislawa in Canada as well as his sisters Danuta and Urszula, brother Zdzislaw and six nieces and twelve nephews and many grand nieces and grand nephews in Poland. Ted is predeceased by his parents Julian and Anna Baran, brothers Zbigniew and Adolf, sister Stanislawa in Poland and his long time friend Sylvia Martin. He will be dearly missed by many. May he rest in peace. Ted was born in Poland and came to Canada in the 1960’s by ship and settled in Grimsby, where he worked in his welding shop, Grimsby Welding, for over 30 years. During this time, he helped many people to develop their welding skills so that they could get jobs at bigger companies. Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Sunday, January 16, 2022, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Prayer Vigil Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 135 Livingston Avenue, Grimsby, on Monday, January 17, 2022 at 11 a.m. In keeping with Ted’s wishes, cremation will follow, with inichement at Grimsby Mountain Cemetery at a later date.
