Peacefully
at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with family by his side, the passing
of Sydney Ross Bruce age 87, of Charlottetown, occurred on Sunday,
July 10, 2022. Born in North Lake, PE, March 4, 1935, son of the late
Gerald and Minnie (Garrett) Bruce. Sydney spent his childhood in East
Baltic with his parents, brothers and sisters, Beatrice, Elda,
Elizabeth, Florine, Calvin and Shirley. At a young age Sydney and his
family moved to Hamilton, ON. Predeceased by his wife Olive (King)
Bruce, they lived in Ontario where they spent 40 years and ended up
back on PEI in Stratford, then Pownal. He worked as an auto mechanic
for Canadian Tire in Scarborough for several years and after that he
worked with Toronto Harbour Commission where he worked a number of
roles; welding, plumbing and mobile crane operator and retired after
several years there. Syd is survived by his children, Millie King and
Ross Bruce (Victoria), 2 grandchildren Elaine King (Alan Chakota),
Laura King and his grand dog, Rocky.
Resting at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home with
visiting on Thursday, July 14, 2022 from 12:00 to 1:45 pm, followed by
the Funeral service. Interment to take place in St.
David’s United Cemetery, Georgetown.
