Obituary
Taken away from us far too soon, while at the Health Science Centre, St. John’s, Newfoundland, on Monday, February 21, 2022, Susan “Sue” Parrott (nee Hickey) of Mount Carmel, St. Mary’s Bay, aged 68 years.
Predeceased by her sons James MacLellan-Parrott (February 2002) and Cordell MacLellan (November 2021); great-grandchild Scarlett Lavallee, parents Mary & Alex Hickey, brothers Dick Hickey and Steve Hickey, sisters Mary Hickey and Geraldine Hickey, parents-in-law Angela & John Parrott; brothers-in-law: Jerome, Jimmy, Frank, Austin and Charlie and sister-in-law Diane Hickey.
She will forever be missed by her husband David Parrott, whom together as husband and wife were also considered the loves of each others lives and best friends. The love they shared is incomparable to anything this earth has ever seen.
She is mourned by her children: Jason Laroche (Michelle), Tara Parrott, Mitchell Parrott and also missed by Cordell’s partner, Melissa Boudreau.
She was a loving grandmother to Alexis Lavallee, Alexis MacLellan, Grayson MacLellan, Keegan Laroche, Seth Laroche and her two great-grandchildren Willow Lavallee and Liam Lavallee.
Her many loving brothers and sisters: Ambrose (Beth), Alec, Betty (Barry), Bride (Gerald), Fergus (Darlene), Mildred, Martin (Sandra), Frances (Pat), Philomena (John), Cecilia, Billy (Nancy), Andy and her many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law of the Hickey and Parrott Families: Ann Hickey, Jackie Hickey, Beth (Jim) Hillier, Marion Tremblett, Kevin (Norma) Parrott and Tom (Grace) Parrott.
There are countless nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many other relatives that will miss her never ending love and support. She treated every single individual like they were the most special person in the world.
A special thank you to Sylvia Gushue and Beth Hillier who were incredible friends and amazing caregivers in Sue’s time of need.
Susan Parrott was, without question, the sweetest and kindest woman that ever walked the earth. To know her was to love her and even more importantly, you received her love back which was warmer than her greatest hugs. Her son would often tell her, which she would repeat back to everyone fortunate enough to know her, “I love you deeper than the black hole”.
A woman as incredible as Sue Parrott was surrounded by an unmentionable amount of friends – a list that goes on too long. If you were a friend of Sue you knew it, and by now you know, that she was so free giving with her love to everyone.
