MARGITTAY, Steve Joseph, 1930 – 2022
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Steve Joseph Margittay on June 11, 2022, at the age of 92. Predeceased by his loving wife Theresa. Dearly loved father of Kim (Dave), Steven (Kathy) and Jo-Ann (John). Cherished Grandpa of Caitlyn (Dana), Brendan (Sara), Nicolas, Matthew, Cierra, Mikayla and Joshua. Proud Great Grandpa of Luke. Predeceased by his brother Alex Margittay and sister Mary Payton (Margittay). Steve worked for General Motors in St. Catharines, retiring at 62, so that he and Theresa could spend more time with family and traveling. The family would like to thank the caring staff at River Road Retirement Residence for their kindness, understanding and patience. A special thank you to Dr. Russell, Dr. Dooler and Dr. Khan for their endless care and compassion.
Visitation will take place at MORSE & SON FUNERAL HOME, 5917 Main St. Niagara Falls on Thursday June 16, 2022, 6:00 till 9:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas More Church, 6548 Dorchester Rd, Niagara Falls on Friday June 17, 2022 at 10:30am followed by interment at Lundy’s Lane Cemetery. A private family gathering will follow the Rite of Committal. In Lieu of flowers, donations to the Niagara Health Foundation are greatly appreciated by the Margittay family.
