Stanley Roy Simpson 2022

Stanley Roy Simpson was born in Toronto on August 29, 1960 to parents Gordon & Ilene Simpson (pre-deceased). During a brief battle with cancer, Stan spent his last days at his daughter’s home in Huntsville, surrounded by his family. On September 22, 2021 Stanley passed away peacefully at the age of 61 at Hospice Huntsville with his daughter Maureen by his side.
Stanley worked with the TTC as a Millwright and specialized in escalator mechanics for over 30 years. After retiring in 2012, he lived in the town of Minden where he continued to enjoy his passion for rock n roll music, specifically his favourite band Led Zeppelin. He also enjoyed tending to his plants and vegetable gardens. Stan was a loving father and proud Puppa. He was a kind man with a great sense of humour and a heart of gold. He went by the name “Stangley” and would always end a conversation with “Not goodbye…see you later”.
Stan is survived by his daughter Maureen Simpson (Kevin Parrott) and three grandchildren Emily, Evan and Dean. He is sadly missed by his brothers and sisters, Gail Rogers (Don, pre-deceased), Terry Simpson (Brenda), Robin Roy (Raymond) and Tom Simpson (Ken). Stan is fondly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A lifetime of memories will remain with his best friend Eugene “Buddy” Knowles of over 45 years of friendship. He will forever be kept in the hearts of Mary Ellen and Albert.
The family would like to send their appreciation to Dr. Adam McClure and his team for their compassionate care and support. A heartfelt thank you to his home care nurse Brandy and to the team at Huntsville Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Stanley’s family is forever grateful to Hospice Huntsville for providing him with comfort and care during his last few hours.
At his request, Stan has been cremated. Any donations are asked to be made to Hospice Huntsville.
