Stanley Frank Trzop
1935-2022
With much appreciation for a life well lived, the family of
Stanley Frank Trzop announces his passing on March 23, 2022, at
Shannex Tucker Hall, Saint
John.
Stan is survived by his partner of 25 years, Iris Bliss;
three daughters Laurie Trzop (David Mathieson), Nancy
Matthews (Steven), and Wendy Corscadden (Stephen); sister
Mary; brother Louis (Shirley); nine grandchildren Scott (Lisa), Lisa
(Kevin), Ricky, Jamie, Davey, Kristin, John, Kelly and Josh; two great
grandchildren Lillian Mathieson, and Jack Field, and many nieces and
nephews. Also mourning his passing are sisters-in-law Nan Lefebure
(David) and Elizabeth; brothers-in-law Bob and Tim Bliss, and a
sister-in-law Dorothy (McDade) Bliss.
Stan was predeceased by his parents, Zelia and Stan Trzop
Sr., his wife Joan (1992), and brothers Edward, Frank (Tiny) and Amile
(Anna).
Stan was born on May 11, 1935, in Minto, and to earn money
for the large family went underground in the coal mines at age
14. However, his mother saved all his earnings, and
recognizing his academic prowess, sent him to UNB to study Engineering
for 3 years, after which he finished his mining degree at
Queen’s in 1958. After a very successful career as
a salesman for mining equipment, he decided to go into business on his
own.
Stan retired early and proceeded to enjoy the fruits of his
labour and his many interests. He had three wonderful
daughters who produced nine grandchildren. They kept him busy as well
as providing constant joy for him. Stan’s greatest
recreational interest was fishing, and to indulge this
pleasure he bought himself a camp on the Mirimichi where he
spent many days standing in water catching the mighty
salmon. He subsequently turned the camp into the Salar Haven
Fishing Club in Upper Blackville.
Another interest of his was the sunny south and eventually he
purchased a wonderful place in Florida on the Atlantic Ocean where he
spent over 40 winters indulging in golf, boating, baking in the sun,
and spending social time with his large family and many
friends.
One of Stan’s multiple talents was his expertise in
the kitchen. He loved to cook and he was good at it. Friends
and family enjoyed the result of his superb culinary skills and his
joy in preparing food for eating, socializing, sharing good will and
enjoying many many laughs.
Stan will be remembered for his unique personality where he
managed to infuriate you and make you love him at the same time. He
was kind and loving with his family, generous and witty with his
friends, and offered help and support to many that no-one will ever
know.
The family would like to thank Dr. Elizabeth McDonald, (St
Joseph’s Hospital) for seven years of support, the nurses
and care workers at Windsor Court (Fredericton), and Shannex Tucker
Hall (Saint John), for the kind and nurturing care provided
to Stan during the past year. During his last year at home Stan was
lucky enough to be the recipient of the unique talents of Jana
Urbanowsky, whose love and sense of humour provided Stan joy and
freedom from concern. A special mention of love and thanks go to Dr.
Stephen Corscadden for his constant love, knowledge and inspiration to
the family during Stan’s long years of
dementia.
A visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home
on Friday, March 25 from 5 to 8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at
St. Paul’s United Church on Saturday, March 26 at 3 pm. In
accordance with the church’s policy, attendees must wear
masks and keep their social distance from others outside their
bubbles, while in the church.
For those who wish, donations may be made to
Alzheimer’s Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Cancer
Society or any charity of one’s choice.
“Love is a smile,
a tear and a touch,
Love says little, but means so much
,
Love is forever and we give it to you,
From
the family who thought the world of you.”
