Miedema, Simon (Sam, Sytze)
Nov.6, 1928 (Netherlands)
Simon peacefully passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Shalom Manor in Grimsby, ON. He was the very much loved husband of Wilma (de Graaf) Miedema (d. 2020) for over 67 years, and the hardworking father of 7 children: Adeline (Dave) Reinsma, Tina (Chris) Ages, Linda (John) Geerts, Louis (Sandi), Jerianne (Clarence) Batterink, Jack (Yvonne), and Wendy (Mark) Thackway.
Simon will be missed by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as his siblings in the Netherlands: Piet (Aukje), Tiny, and Luuk (Martha), and brothers-in-law Andy (Kathy) and Gerry (Tieteke). Predeceased by siblings Lena, Durk and Doeke.
The family would like to thank the wonderful Shalom Manor staff for the beautiful ways they helped our parents enjoy their final years of life.
All are welcome to join us for a celebration service of Simon’s life at White Chapel Memorial Gardens (1895 Main St. W, Hamilton) at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 22. The service will also be posted on the Immanuel church’s youtube channel at immanuelministries.ca.
“Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go; Never fear, only trust and obey.”

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Simon Miedema November 6 1928 July 19 2022..
