Simon Angus Woodsend August 8 1950 April 17 2022

Simon Angus Woodsend, son of the late Gervase and Kathrine Woodsend, passed away on April 17, 2022. He passed peacefully at his remote home at the age of 71.
Angus was born in Hunstanton, Norfolk, England, on August 8, 1950. He spent his childhood in Brancaster Staithe, where his family resided. His summers were spent flying in his family’s airplane with his father, mother and brother Hugh to wonderful destinations such as the South of France and Brittany. Angus attended Aysgarth Prep School, later going to Harrow. He earned his degree in Geology from Southampton University.
Post university, Angus worked in South Africa, a time in his life he remembered fondly. His career took him to Canada after Africa. First landing in Labrador City, Newfoundland, then on to Northern BC, and finally residing in Yukon Territory. He was a respected prospector, geologist, and placer miner. He understood the land and had a deep connection with the wilderness. He was proud to live off-grid, maintaining a self-sufficient lifestyle surrounded by all of Yukon’s beauty.
Angus is survived by his brother Hugh Woodsend and his son Cameron Woodsend.
As Angus was very private, there will not be a public service. His ashes will be spread at sea, as per his wishes.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Simon Angus Woodsend August 8 1950 April 17 2022..
