Siew Jin “Carol” Lee
1943-2022
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Siew Jin “Carol” Lee, of Edmonton, Alberta, on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at the age of 78 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law, Swee Chin Lee; brothers, Fook Foh (Maria) Lee, Fook Phin (Christina) Lee, Fook Keen (Swee Ting) Lee, Richard Fook Fah (Lily Ong Bong Aeo) Lee; and sisters, Alice (John) Wong, and Nyuk Kui Lee (Chee Fui) Chin.
She was predeceased by her brother, Fook Choi Lee; and her parents, Yong Yee Lee and Moi Fung Chai.
Carol was born in Miri, Sarawak to vegetable sellers, Yong Yee Lee and Moi Fung Chai. Along with her eldest brother, mom and dad moved them to the neighbouring country of Brunei, where they settled in Kuala Belait. Carol became big sister to 6 more siblings. Carol did administrative work at a local welding company before she immigrated to Canada in 1988. During her time in Edmonton, she worked at K-Bro Linen for an outstanding 27 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping and eating with her sister Alice, and going out with her best friend Helen. Nothing made her happier than seeing all of her nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews get together. She was a little lady with a strong Catholic faith. She devoted her time on earth to serving God. Carol was very involved with her faith community and attended mass regularly during the week.
A Visitation/Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Connelly-McKinley St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert, Alberta.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, February 18, 2022, at Connelly-McKinley St. Albert Funeral Home, 9 Muir Drive, St. Albert, Alberta.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Sturgeon Hospital and Youville Home for your care and support. The family also wishes to acknowledge and thank Aunt Carol’s prayer group, St. Charles Parish, and Reverend J.D Carmichael for your continued prayers and support in her faith.
