(January 18, 1926 – November 15, 2021)
It is with sadness that her family announces the death of Margaret Florence (McCoy) Shortt of Apache Junction, AZ. During the final months of her life, she resided at her son John’s home, and passed away surrounded by their love. Margaret is survived by her son John (Nancy); grandchildren Justin, Johnna and their families; sister Patricia; and many nieces and nephews in both the McCoy and Shortt families. She is predeceased by infant son William; husband Elmer “Mike” (2005); parents Clarence and Katie; sister Joyce; brothers Jack and Larry. Marg and Mike moved to the United States in the late 1950s for health reasons and resided in several different locations over the years. They travelled extensively in Canada and the U.S. and also made trips to Scotland to visit cousins. She always looked forward to welcoming visitors into their home, wherever they were living. Her last years were spent comfortably in an assisted living facility in Apache Junction. Despite being in the United States for most of her life, Canada and particularly Brigden was always her home. She had a strong faith, and we are sure she is dancing with the angels!
Cremation has taken place, and a private interment will take place at Bradshaw Cemetery Aug. 14, 2022.
