Obituary of Shirley Marguerite Harnish
HARNISH, Shirley Marguerite- Age 86 of Halifax, it with great sadness that we announce the quick passing of Shirley Marguerite Harnish on August 20, 2022 at Melville Heights Nursing Home. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Wilfred Seaforth and Lillian May (Jollimore) Nicholas. She was the loving wife of the late Kenneth Joseph Harnish. Shirley was survived by her loving family; daughters, Linda (Tom) Dicks, Judi (Joe) Pearson; son, Scot (Ruth) Wagner, all of Halifax; stepsons, Steven, Andrew (Janet), Bruce (Lisa), all of Grand Prairie, AB; stepdaughter, Lorna (James) Curnew; stepbrother, Gerald (Jerry) Nicholas, Halifax; grandchildren, Meagan Wagner, Troy Wagner, Jennifer Pearson, Bobi Dicks, Halifax, Sarah Caldwell, St. John NB; great grandchildren, Kyle Dicks, Alexzandrya Henry, Jonah Caldwell, Isaac Caldwell, Jorja Dicks O’Rielly, Jillian Brace, Jayden Brace, Isabel Harnish, Miles Marriott, Caleb Webb; step grandchildren, Joseph Lyons Jamie Curnew, Jessica Prince, Cory Gorman; along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brother, Wilfred “Bub” Sinclair Nicholas; sister, Helen Armsworthy; stepson, Michael; step granddaughter, Stephanie. Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd, 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, Nova Scotia. In keeping with Shirley’s wishes there will be no visitation. A funeral service will be held at J. Albert Walker Funeral home Chapel, Friday August 26, 2022 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
