Obituary of Shirley Cole
Shirley Margaret Cole (nee: Lavelle) – Passed away at the Stedman Community Hospice on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 in her 88th year. Devoted and loving wife of Morris Clifford Cole. Predeceased by her much loved husband Gerry Walsh and her brothers Bill and Donald Lavelle. Shirley leaves behind her loving children William Lavelle, Shirleen “Sheena” Woytaz (Kevin) and grandchildren Colin Russell, Jeremy Woytaz (Anna) and Jason Woytaz (Claire). Caring great grandmother of Cohen, Jakob and Charlie. Dear sister of Teddy (Susie). Shirley was beautiful, loving, charismatic, vibrant, funny, charming ,sentimental, independent and smart. She loved to laugh and was strong in faith. She played baseball, roller skated and loved to dance and sing. Shirley enjoyed lobster dinners, the Erie beach and was brilliant at Logic puzzles. She enjoyed the game of poker and made many wonderful friends enjoying this activity. Many were in awe of her ability to be the last lady standing in many a tournament game. She loved to hear and tell a good joke and to reminisce about days gone by. She loved her family more than words and was very proud of them. If you had the pleasure of meeting/knowing her you understand the essence of her being ! Know beyond knowing she will be welcomed into heaven by her lord and her Gerry. Pocket aces mom … love you more. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue on Tuesday from 10-11am. A funeral service will follow in the chapel on Tuesday at 11 am. Interment Mount Hope Cemetery. Donations to the Stedman Community Hospice would be appreciated.
