Obituary
It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of our mother, after a very brief illness at the Montfort Hospital on June 21, 2022 in her 80th year. Dear mother of Stephen and Terry (Ali), adoring grandmother of Dalton (Heidi), Kailyn (Nathan), Austin, Bailey and Thomas and doting great-grandmother of Ella, Easton and Emmery. She will be greatly missed by her sister Lois of Brockville and brothers Ken (Cheryl) of Watman, SK and Bryan (Barb) of Gloucester and her sister-in-law Donna of Ottawa. She was a special aunt to Adam (Lisa) and Tiffany (Vijay) and very special great-aunt of Ciara, Colton, Jaiden, Kieran and Luka. Predeceased by her parents Leslie and Iva (nee Dancy) Toll, brother Donnie and sister Joyce (George Acs).
Mom enjoyed spending time with her sons and grandchildren and supported them in every way she could. She also took great joy, in her special great nieces and nephews whom she adored, and who brought her so much happiness. After retiring from 33 years in Library Services at Health Canada, Mom loved going to the plays with her sister Lois in Morrisburg and loved just going for drives. Her knitting was never far from her side and she was often found watching curling or the Ottawa Senators.
A special thank you to the staff in the ICU at the Montfort Hospital for the kind and compassionate care you showed our mom and our family.
A Celebration of Shirley’s Life will be held at the Greely Legion, 8021 Mitch Owens Road, Greely on Sunday, July 17, at 2 p.m. Interment will take place at Springhill Cemetery at a later date. If desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada would be appreciated.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Shirley Elizabeth Toll McCormick November 27 1942 June 21 2022 (age 79)..
