Sheree Ann Marie Ulrich (nee Gamelin), born on December 18, 1958, was the sweetest, kindest, most caring person most people will ever know. Sheree was humble, independent, strong, creative and a very funny lady. This amazing woman passed away peacefully, supported by her cherished family and love of her life David Ulrich, on Saturday, October 22, 2022. Sheree left this world quietly and stoically fighting a courageous battle with cancer. She never complained and remained “grateful” for the life she had lived and felt “lucky” for everything, until her very last moments.
Sheree had many talents; as she excelled in the art of playing all games, and if you ever had the pleasure of competing with her in any game, you would be wise not to bet on yourself, as she would often win. She was a masterful chef, able to prepare the finest traditional sour cabbage rolls, lasagna, sticky ribs, bacon fried rice, and many baked goods.
She spent many hours making jewelry, soaps, bath bombs, painting, drawing and gardening. Sheree enjoyed the theater, the library, long walks, bike rides and music. She loved watching her Saskatchewan Roughriders play, and was one of their biggest fans over the years.
She had the most infectious laugh and used it often. Sheree was known for her virtual hugs on absolutely every phone call you had with her. She was always the very best cat mom and animal lover.
She loved her trips to Winnipeg with husband David, and the times they had exploring the prairies. Sheree’s talents and time will be remembered forever by all those who knew her and loved her.
Over the years, Sheree poured her heart into various jobs and professions. In the early years, she worked at the National Film Board of Canada, Gene’s Ltd (KFC) where she first met David and also as a florist which she talked about fondly for many years to come.
She spent several years at Macmillan Bathhurst Inc.,in Regina, before she relocated to Calgary seeking a new adventure. While in Calgary, Sheree practiced massage therapy, worked at a group home, and eventually found her way to the Alberta Ballet, where she stayed until returning to Regina to be closer to her family.
Once back to Regina and until her passing, she embarked in a career as a Continuing Care Aide, working both privately and for the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region.
Sheree’s love for her husband David, family and friends is what made Sheree so special. She was the most loyal wife, sister, auntie, stepmom, grandma, friend and family member anyone could have asked for. There was never a phone call ignored, an email unanswered or door unopened. She was a fierce protector of all those she loved and was everyone’s strongest advocate.
The depth of the hole she leaves behind for those closest to her is incomprehensible. She left her mark on all of us, and she left this world a better place by just living in it!
Sheree Ann Marie Ulrich will be dearly missed by her husband and great love David Ulrich and their beloved cat Lionel. Sheree had a small family but one who loved her deeply and will forever hold her in their hearts. She was predeceased by her grandparents Ann (nee Novak) and Frank Schmidt, Anna (nee MacInnes) and Harvey Gamelin; her parents Kate Isabel Gamelin Haug (nee Schmidt), father William Gamelin; and many aunts and uncles she adored.
She is also survived by her dear sister Patrice Wagman (brother-in-law Les Wagman) and their 2 daughters and her most treasured girls, Carey Lipoth (Greg) and Jennifer Wagman (Kent Sharp); great-nephew Jonathan Lipoth and great-nieces Elizabeth Lipoth, Isabella Lipoth, Sophia Lipoth, Amelia Sharp and Finlee Sharp.
Sheree also leaves to mourn her step-mother Vicki Gamelin (William), her sister Erin Gamelin (Craig Abbott) and brother Sean Gamelin (Kim Drewes); great-nephews Austin, Max and Trae.
Sheree was very loved as well by her second family, who came as part of the package when she married David. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law Maureen Ulrich. She is survived by two step-sons Adam Parker and Derek Parker (Christine) and their two beautiful daughters Peyton and Taylor; sister-in-law Joanne Barna (Earvin) and brother-in-law Barry Ulrich (Barb); nieces and nephews Tina Baker (Kirby), Shaune Ulrich, Dennis Barna (Amy), Jamie Barna (Matt) and Austin Blackhart (Lacey); great-nieces Kara Baker (Simon) and Nikki Baker (Mitchell) and great-nephew Theodore; as well as numerous other great great-great nieces and nephews.
