Sheldon Trenholm
1931-2022
We sadly announce the peaceful passing of Sheldon Trenholm at
his residence in Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home on April 30, 2022.
Born in Port Elgin, he was the son of the late Herbert and Grace
(Fillmore) Trenholm.
Prior to his retirement, he enjoyed a 40-year career in the
engineering department of NB Tel. His favourite season was summer, and
he could often be found tending his garden in which he took much pride
and joy. Sheldon also enjoyed hunting, fishing, country music
including the fiddle. He was an award-winning bowling champion and an
avid coin collector.
He is survived by his loving wife Faye (Geldart), daughter
Sherry Trenholm (formerly Sparks), son Darren Trenholm, sister Donna
Holmes, grandchildren Maria, David, Alexa, and Andrew, 6
great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters
Josephine, Elizabeth, Rita, Vera, Nina, Josephine, Blanche, Kay, Etta,
as well as his brothers Herbert, Kenneth and Chester, and his
daughter-in-law Constance.
Respecting his wishes, cremation will take place at
Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd,
Riverview (869-2007). A service to celebrate his life will be
held on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at 1pm at St. Paul’s United
Church, 404 Cleveland Ave, Riverview. The family of Sheldon Trenholm
would like to thank the amazing Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home staff
who provided endless care, compassion, and support to Sheldon the past
14 months and while he was in Palliative Care. A special thank you
to Rev. Steve Berube for his spiritual guidance. Donations to
the Canadian Cancer Society or Diabetes Canada would be appreciated by
his family.
