Sheldon Roth Radtke (Papa)
February 11, 1959 – February 9, 2022
Surrounded by his loved ones, Sheldon left us to be with his Lord and Saviour. Sheldon was born in New Waterford, NS and in 1979, moved with his young family to Trail, BC and resided there until his passing.
Sheldon owned and operated The Bargain Bin in Castlegar for many years and later worked for Mtn. Eagle and Selkirk Security.
Sheldon leaves behind his wife and best friend Linda Radtke along with two daughters; Rhonda Radtke of Trail, BC and Tonya Hicks (Gary) of Trail, BC as well as one son Phillip. His grandchildren were his life and he spent any spare minutes with them; Candice Cooper and Michael Cooper, Dallas and Tyler Woods, Sierra Ducker, Araya, Tehlia and Aceah Jolie and two great-grandchildren who kept him extra busy; Ella-Lynn and Paisley Cooper. He is also survived by two sisters; Brenda McIntyre of Sydney, NS, Rev. Joan Griffin (Mike) of Halifax, NS, one brother Charlie Radtke (Kari) of Rossland, BC as well as a special sister-in-law Donna Radtke of Sydney, NS.
Sheldon was predeceased by a little granddaughter Desiree Lynn, his parents Charlie and Gladys, a sister in infancy, and very special brother and sister; Ernie Radtke and Sandra Hogan.
Sheldon loved to spend time with his family and being with his Lion Members – The Selkirk Lions in Castlegar. He was also a long-time fan and supporter of the Trail Smoke Eaters. Sheldon loved fishing with Michael and the girls. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle and took many trips with Linda on the back.
He was a very spiritual man and was involved in many church activities. Sheldon will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life for Sheldon will be at the Salvation Army Church at 2030 2nd Avenue, Trail, BC at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 26, 2022. Andreas Schmitz of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
