Sheila Marie Duff nee Walsh 2022

Obituary
It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Sheila, at the young age of 63, following a courageous and fierce battle with cancer. Sheila passed peacefully at her home with her loving family by her side.
Sheila is predeceased by her parents, Margaret and John Walsh; her sisters Viola, Gertrude, and Patricia Guest; and brothers-in-law Carl Barnes, Kevin Guest, Frank Decoste, and Len Decoste.
She leaves behind with a lifetime of beautiful memories her son Tyler, siblings Anna, Mary, Viola, Jean, John (Vera), Barb (Roger), Harry, Don, and Peggy, and special nieces Kim, Sherry, Sue and Cassie who were like sisters to Sheila. Also, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a large circle of extended family and close friends.
A special thank you to all the doctors and nurses from the Cancer Care Clinic at the Health Science Center who offered so much care and support. We would also like to send a special thank you to Nurse Claudette, who helped us take Sheila home and provided many at-home visits. Your kindness and support did not go unnoticed.
To know and love Sheila was a blessing, and to say she was a special soul is an understatement. Known as Granny and Wonder Woman, Sheila touched the lives of everyone around her. Born and raised in Newfoundland, Sheila later moved to Ontario and began her career as a Registered Nurse and raised her son Tyler. She then moved back to Newfoundland to be with her sisters and brothers. Her son Tyler was her pride and joy, and he brought so much happiness to her life. Sheila truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, whether it was shopping trips with her sisters, making lunches for her brothers, or going to a niece or nephew’s hockey game, dance recital or school concert. She loved music, dancing, sports, flakies, and her Timmie’s coffee. She was the brightest light and cared deeply for her friends and family. Her heart was pure, and she was always thinking of everyone else before herself. Sheila faced many struggles in her life, from her Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis to Cancer, and she did it all with a smile on her face and the most positive attitude. Her independence, strength, and love of life are what pushed her through. While our hearts are broken, we will always remember her smile and take comfort in the many beautiful memories we shared.
