Obituary
It is with sad and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sharon Elaine (Haynes) McGuigan, which occurred at Bobby’s Hospice on June 11, 2022. Sharon was born in Saint John on May 2, 1946 to the late George Howard Haynes and Hilda Leola (Oram) Haynes.
Sharon is survived by her sisters Barbara MacDonald of Moncton, NB and Lynne Walker of Hamilton, Ont. Sharon also had many nieces and nephews who she dearly loved.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was predeceased by her sisters Anne (Betty) Scott, Carole Dykens and brothers Charles, Harry and Robert Haynes.
Sharon had a beautiful soul with a generous and giving heart. Her name ‘Sharon’ was so appropriate because she was always ‘sharing’. More than anything, she loved to make people laugh or smile.
She was employed as a florist for over 45 years, and retired as the Floral Manager of the Atlantic Superstore on Rothesay Ave. After retirement she kept up her craft of floral design by assisting the employees of A Liz A Beth’s floral shop.
Sharon’s hobbies were crocheting, reading and dining out with friends. Her family and friends will miss her greatly.
The family will accept condolences at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 beginning at 1:00 PM until her celebration of life service starting at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery immediately following the service.
