With great sadness we announce the passing of Shannon Berge/Callison.
Shannon passed away July 7th at 4:44 pm after a brief battle with Leukemia.
Unfortunately, the cure was worse than the disease and although she beat the cancer there were complications from the treatment which she could not overcome.
She was 53.
Shannon dedicated much of her life to music and it gave her great satisfaction to share her natural gift with others. She was very well known for her entertaining at the seniors home and festivals and honouring loved ones at literally dozens of funerals where she was asked to sing. Anywhere she could make people feel better or make a difference she was more than happy to attend.
Although taken far too soon Shannon was one of the few people that we can honestly say led her dream life and she wouldn’t have changed a thing. She was a dedicated mother and wife and took so much pride in her home and yard and the endless little projects she was always working on.
She had a huge passion for horses, camping, fishing, and the mountains. Often, she could be found snowshoeing and skiing and many of her little trips would included a campfire, coffee and soup. She was just one of those special people that would always take the time to enjoy the little things in life that many of us take for granted.
She was a kind, caring, loving woman and she was our glue. She taught us all so much about the importance of family, love and taking time to get together, whether it was a fancy dinner she prepared, wiener roast, coffee or a phone call.
Shannon was a loving Mother, Wife, Sister, Aunty, Niece, Cousin and a trusted friend to all that knew her.
She will be dearly missed but she leaves behind so many beautiful memories and her legacy will live on forever.”
A celebration of life will be held at a later date this summer which will give the family time to plan something suiting for a truly beautiful person
