The family is deeply saddened to acknowledge the death of Phyllis Ella Irene on Friday, January 7th, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Healthcare in her 85th year. Devoted husband, Chuck (Charles) since 1959 and loving caregiver since 2013 is left to mourn. The family is tremendously impressed and proud of the way Phyllis dealt with her copious health concerns over the last number of years. Cherished mother to daughters, Janice and Julie and son, Drew and his wife, Heather. Loving Grandma of special grandson, Isaac. Sister of Bradley (2005), wife Helen of Palgrave, ON and Karen of Bath, ON. Phyllis was a teacher with the Hamilton Board of Education and later, after raising her family, with the Wentworth County Board of Education, retiring in 1997. Phyllis was a long-time member of Ryerson United Church, Ancaster; taking the lead in the formation of the church’s first Chancel Guild under the leadership of the Reverend Dr. D. Graham Tipple. Chuck and Phyllis were very active after retirement being members at Sackville Hill Seniors and the Hamilton Tartan Social Club. Cremation, at Phyllis’s request, has taken place. Because of the current health concerns a gathering will not take place. A private interment at White Chapel will be attended by family. The Reverend Paul Rodey assisting.
