Samuel Barrow, aged 92, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2022. He was born on November 30, 1929 in Gambo NL to Charlie and Rebecca Barrow. He married the love of his life, Lily (nee Collins) on August 8, 1956.
In his younger years Sam worked in the lumber woods. Eventually he and Lily opened a general store in Gambo where they worked side by side for 32 years. They had a full, loving and enjoyable life together with their children Shawn and Sonya, fishing, berry picking, going to their cabin, camping, snowmobiling, and many boil ups with family and friends. What he loved most was a good joke and a game of cards with friends. Sam will always be remembered by many for being there to lend a hand with his hammer and saw.
Sam had 8 wonderful grandchildren, Crystal, Samantha, Brittany, Brandon, Carly, Lindsey, Janna and Loni, 7 great grandchildren, Austin, Autumn, Layla, Dawsynn, Henley, Truman and Finley, who were his pride and joy.
Predeceased by his parents, Charlie and Rebecca Barrow, sisters Elsie (Thoms) and Minnie, brother William and brothers in law, Paul Thoms and Russel Pike.
Leaving to cherish his memory is his loving wife Lily, son Shawn (Joanne), daughter Sonya Hillier (Paul), brothers Ira (Amy), Alvin (Louise) and sister Rita Pike.
In keeping with Samuel’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
