Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one at South Health Campus, Calgary on Saturday, November 5, 2022, Sadie Elizabeth Hoyles, age 68 years of New-Wes-Valley.
Predeceased by her parents; Thomas and Hazel Sheppard and brothers; Loyd (Una) and Jim (Martha). Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband; John Hoyles, son; Trevor (Ashlea), granddaughter; Nora, grandson; Baxter, sisters; Kate Knee and Elaine (Glen) Goodyear, brothers; Cliff (Dorene) and Wilf (Ruth), brother-in-laws; Grant (Darlene), Ken (Peggy), Eric, Scott, sister-in-laws; Marina (Russ) Kean, Marilyn Hoyles (Tom Johnson), Jane Blagdon, Irene (Otto) Burry and a large circle of other relatives and friends.
Sadie Hoyles was a kind and gentle soul. She left a lasting impression on the people she met and she could always be depended on no matter the circumstance. Since retiring and moving back to New-Wes-Valley from Mount Pearl, she reconnected with old friends and could usually be found with “The Breakfast Club” playing cards, chatting over breakfast, or travelling the island. Her grandchildren were a huge part of her life and although there were many miles between them, she was always a phone call or video chat away. When they did have the opportunity to be in each other’s company their time was spent playing at the park, baking cookies, or playing board games.
During her final days, Sadie managed her illness with strength and grace and all she wanted was to spend as much time as she could surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
Funeral and visitation details to follow…
As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Sadie’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
