Obituary of Ruth Marion Elliott
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our matriarch, Ruth Elliott at Renfrew Victoria Hospital on Monday January 31, 2022, one week after her 94th birthday. She passed peacefully with the love and support of family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Vincent (Branny) Elliott. She will be sadly missed by her children Wayne (Mary), Donna (Norm), Tom, David (Brenda) and Chris (Tina). As well as her brother Jim (Wanda), sisters-in-law Ann, Leola, Alice, Verna and brother-in-law Jack (Joan). Much loved grandmother of Jody (Bill), Melissa, Robert, Stephanie, Stacey (Ray), Matthew (Adriana), Philip, Hannah, Katrina, Tanner and Celina and great-grandmother to Hayden (Cass), Jack and Samuel. Predeceased by her son Joey, brothers Albert and Mervin, and brother-in-law Keith (late Jean). Daughter of the late Albert and Mary Stubinsky (Leclaire). Ruth will be missed and forever remembered by her Aunt Jessie and good friend Jean.
She was very active at St. Francis Xavier Church as a lifetime member of the Catholic Women’s League (CWL). Her faith was very important to her. Ruth was also active in the community whether it was volunteering her time or taking part in events at the Silver Seniors, Renfrew Legion, Golden Age Activity Centre or taking part in the odd Bingo. Her talent for crafting ran far and wide and projects were always shared with her family.
We wish to thank the staff of the Ottawa General Hospital and the Palliative Care team at the Renfrew Victoria Hospital for providing the utmost care and dignity. A most heartfelt thank you to Dr. Pinard for going above and beyond. We cannot thank you enough.
A Visitation will be held at the Goulet Funeral Home 310 Argyle St., S Renfrew on Thursday February 3rd from 2-4, 6-8 pm. DUE TO THE CURRENT RESTRICTIONS REGARDING COVID-19, A CERTAIN NUMBER PEOPLE ARE PERMITTED AT THE FUNERAL HOME AT ANY GIVEN TIME – FACE MASKS/COVERINGS ARE REQUESTED FOR THE FUNERAL HOME. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church, Renfrew on Friday February 4th at 10:30 am. Spring interment Most Precious Blood Cemetery, Calabogie.
