Passed peacefully at Hampton Terrace on Wednesday March 9th 2022 at the age of 102 just three months shy of her 103rd birthday. Born in Tracey Station, New Brunswick and later grew up in Toronto Ruth went on to train at Camp X where she was transcribing and decoding encrypted messages. She was later moved to New York to work for Intrepid. Ruth lived an incredible life that took her to live in Italy and Africa, Chincoteague Virginia, Maryland and then for many years in Mobile Alabama before she returned home to Canada following her late husband Harvey Parson’s death in 2005 to live her final years with her beloved sister Bernice Marshall and her extended family. Just the very thought of Ruth brings a smile to those that knew and loved her. She had a special spark and zest for life that will continue to inspire those she has left behind for years to come. Her great nephew Brett Marshall and great niece Amy Dukes Marshall would like to extend our heart felt thanks to Dr. Jerome and especially to the incredible staff at Hampton Terrace that took such great care of not just our beloved Aunt Ruth but us as well. Your kindness throughout our time there has been so greatly appreciated. We also extend our thanks to the many friends that Ruth made during her time here back in Canada.
