Tribute
Ruth Cowan (nee Wake) of Innisfil, Ontario passed away on November 24th, 2022 peacefully at the IOOF Senior Home in Barrie.
Beloved wife of Andrew (53 years), dear mother of Grant and his wife Tracy, Allan and his wife Shelan and cherished grandmother of Lauren, Natasha and Jacob. Loving sister of David Wake and his wife Jane. Sister-in-law of Margaret and her husband Tom Bentley and Beth Wake. Ruth will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
Pre-deceased by her twin brother Ralph (1964) and brother Paul (2020) and their parents Norman and Elva Wake.
Upon retirement, as a primary school teacher in Simcoe County, Ruth enjoyed many sporting and cultural activities with her family and friends. She was a longtime time faithful member of Stroud Presbyterian Church. Her belonging to the “Fab Five” was also very special to her.
A visitation will take place at Innisfil Funeral Home (7910 Yonge St, Innisfil) on Monday, November 28th, 2022 from 7 to 9 pm. A service in celebration of her life will take place at Innisfil Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 29th, 2022 at 1 pm with interment to follow at the Sixth Line Cemetery, Innisfil. Following the interment, a reception will be held at Innisfil Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Stroud Presbyterian Church, The Alzheimer’s Society or the Food Bank.
