Turner, Ruth Bertha

Ruth Turner (nee Lamb) of Red Deer, AB, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. Ruth was born in Rowley, AB on March 26, 1927 to Homer and Bertha Lamb. Ruth met William (Bill) Turner in Calgary and after a whirlwind romance; they were married May 7, 1948. They enjoyed many years together, travelling the world and camping with family and friends. They were married 62 wonderful years, and parted with the passing of Bill in 2010.
Ruth loved taking photographs and never left home without her camera. She captured hundreds of memories that will be cherished by her family in the years to come. She loved to sew and many of her grandchildren grew up in garments made by her. Ruth was involved with Toastmistress International and met many friends throughout North America through their conferences.
Ruth will be deeply missed by her daughter, Lori (Roddy) Park; daughter-in-law, Kathy Turner; grandchildren, Denise (Darren) Roth, Krista (Brad) Nielsen, Kevin (Karri-Ann) Flater, Elizabeth (Ryan) Rennie, Rory (Tanis) Park, Michael (Carmen) Park, and Thomas (Nicole) Park; as well as numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Homer and Bertha; husband, William Turner; son, Tom Turner; and grandson, Bill Flater.
Ruth’s family would like to extend their warmest thanks to the Villa Marie of Red Deer for the exceptional care they provided for the five years she resided there.
A private Celebration of Life for Ruth will be held at a later date.
