Obituary
NICHOLLS, Albert Russell Frank “Russ”
May 27, 1927 – Oct 14, 2022
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father. Son of Albert & Edith Nicholls, (predeceased). Devoted husband to the late Anita (predeceased) for over 65 years. Adoring father to Wendy McConnell (Dan), Sherry Payne (Robert), & Gail Menard (Richard). Loving grandpa to Kate Fisher (Jon), Bryan McConnell, Tim Payne (Caroline), Jeff Payne (Terra), Riley Payne (Jenn), Julia Monk (Darin). Great grandpa to Mikayla, Kelsey, Wyatt, Chloe, Callum, Jordan & Lucas. Survived by sisters, Ruth Danyshyn, and Jean Clarkson. Predeceased by siblings, Victor, Glenn, Eva, Eileen, Marjorie, Allan, Ross, and James.
Russ & Anita owned and operated Russ Nicholls Insurance for many years. He was a founding member of The Huntsville Lake of Bays Railway Society, and was one of the many devoted and dedicated volunteers that saw the return of The Portage Flyer Train, to the Town of Huntsville. Later writing a book “The Rebirth of The Portage Flyer”. A labour of love and an endeavour that he was extremely proud of.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. David Mathies, and Dr. Deb Harrold and to all of the caring Doctors and nurses on east wing, at Huntsville Hospital. In addition, a very special thank you to the wonderful and devoted staff at Algonquin Grace Hospice. This community is so very fortunate to have this facility!
A Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, October 19 at 2pm at The Active Center, 20 Park Drive in Huntsville. As an expression sympathy and in Lieu of flowers, donations to Algonquin Grace (Huntsville) Hospice or the Huntsville Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Russell Nicholls 2022..
