Roy Peloso was born in 1931 in Powell River, BC. At a young age the family moved to Nelson, where he met and married Janice Black. Roy and Janice relocated to Trail where they raised 2 daughters, Michelle and Lorri-Ann. Roy was the branch manager of Auto Marine Electric in Trail and then in Kamloops.
In his youth, you could find Roy either on one of his boats on Kootenay Lake; fishing at Grohman Creek, or at Nelson’s Civic Center driving the Zamboni or playing lacrosse and hockey. Family legend has it that Roy was known amongst his peers as a roller skating wizard. When he moved to Trail, he continued enjoying Men’s League Hockey and co-coaching the girl’s hockey team.
Roy was a very hard worker; while either building his family home in Sunningdale or helping friends and family with their projects.
Roy is survived by his wife, Janice, his loving daughters: Michelle (Rick) children Brandon & Kaitlin (Gio); Lorri-Ann (Barry) children Rylie, Matheson (Rebecca), Jaidyn & Camryn; cousin, Julie Miner; sisters-in-law, Debbie Black, Jean (Reo) Peloso, Arlene (Richard) Cristofoli; and nieces and nephew.
Predeceased by his parents, Tranquilla & Mario, brother, Andy, sister-in-law Ivy, and brother-in-law, Gerry.
The family would like to thank Broader Horizons, the care workers who supported him at home, and the nurses, doctors, and staff at Kootenay Lake Hospital and Jubilee Manor.
At Roy’s request no service will be held. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Roy’s memory can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada (B.C. & Yukon division) at mssociety.donorportal.ca
