Obituary
Ronald Stanislaus Cecil
At just past 84 years of age, Ron passed away after a month-long illness in the Sturgeon Community Hospital (St. Albert, AB). He is predeceased by his brother Douglas and parents Ivy and Francis. He is survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Dora and his children Jodie (Mike) Kachkar and Jeremy (Carrie) Cecil. He is fondly remembered by his nieces and nephew; Perlita, Carline and Alastair, and grandsons Liam and Jacob.
Up until his illness Ron enjoyed phone calls with friends and digging out and sharing interesting bits of the internet that he found. As he and Dora had moved to St. Albert, AB in 2019 to live with his daughter and son-in-law he was enjoying a slower pace of life and the chance to winter in Texas with his son and daughter-in-law.
There will be two memorial services for Ron:
Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Rio Terrace Community Church in Edmonton Alberta at 11am local time. This service can be accessed by ZOOM through the link on the main church webpage at www.rioterracechurch.org
Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish at 11am local time. That service will be followed by a short reception in the church hall (COVID restrictions permitting) and an internment of the ashes (family only).
