It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Ronald James Hollett on August 2, 2022 in Trail, BC at the age of 71.
Leaving to mourn are his daughter Shawn (Dwayne), granddaughters Courtney (Gary) and Emerald, great granddaughter Samantha; sisters Helene John (Dave), Carol Cournoyer, Sharon Ross, Brenda Nedelec (Tom), sister-in-law Jan Hollett and many beloved nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Hedley and Lorraine, brothers Brian and Gerry and brothers-in-law Wayne Cournoyer and Rob Ross. Ron was most proud of his daughter Shawn and her beautiful family.
For over 25 years Ron worked as a concrete finisher with his brother Gerry, in the Trail area.
The simplest pleasures brought great joy to Ron. He learned to play guitar and enjoyed entertaining family and friends over the years with his music. He loved sports, playing fastball and slow pitch in the summer and curling in the winter. Ron was a member of the Beaver Valley Amateur Radio Club and enjoyed the weekly call-outs to friends all over the world. Ron was always happy to spend time with family and catching up and having a laugh. He was gentle, loving soul and will be dearly missed. His legacy is his kind heart, laid back personality and always having a smile.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family celebration of life at a later date. Andreas Schmitz of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
