CHEESEMAN, Ronald Brompton – Died June 24, 2022. According to his wishes, a private family
funeral has taken place. Beloved husband for 62 years of the late Katherine (2012). Deeply loved
father of predeceased Jeffery of B.C. and Lisa Demacio (Sam) of Richmond Hill. Cherished
grandfather to Nicole and Gregory, and devoted “GG” to his darling great-grandchild Chloe.
Predeceased by brothers Norval and Basil. Ron was an “Old East Yorker”. He served for 2 years in
the Canadian Navy during WWII before enrolling in Commerce and Finance at U.of T. Graduated
in 1949 and married his love Katherine in 1950. He founded his oil company Brompton Petroleum in
1953. He was a founding member, past director and past President of the Donalda Club. An avid sportsman
all his life, he played golf “at the drop of anyone’s hat”. Ron volunteered his time for over 30 years
as a Rules Official at many of the Amateur Golf Tournaments throughout Ontario. He was a former
director and Lifetime Honorary Governor of the Ontario Golf Association. He loved nature and a
good adventure. He will be remembered for his unbounding zest for life, love of family and eternal
optimism. Ron lived life fully, embracing each moment with unwavering positive attitude. In lieu
of flowers donations would be appreciated to the charity of your choice.
