MWO (ret) Ronald T.A. Wulf, CD
23 February 1958 – 24 October 2020
Ronald T.A. Wulf, age 62, peacefully at home on Saturday, October 24th, 2020 after a long battle with glioblastoma (brain cancer). Ron was born on February 23rd, 1958 to Willem and Anna Wulf in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, emigrating to Canada with his parents in 1967.
Ron is survived by his wife Susan Wulf (nee Gawthroupe); daughter Cassiopeia (Carl Knapp); grandchildren Rosemary and Teddy; his mother Anna Wulf and his “brother from another mother”, Rick Gill. Ron was predeceased by his father Willem Wulf of Thunder Bay, Ontario.
Ron served in both the Canadian Armed Forces’ Primary Reserves and Regular Forces from 1975 to 2013, retiring at the rank of Master Warrant Officer. During his military career, Ron served in variety of locations across Canada and overseas, including Germany, the United Kingdom and Moscow, in the former Soviet Union. Ron continued serving Canada with the federal government until earlier this year. He also volunteered as a firefighter with the South Frontenac Fire Department from 2000 to 2010.
Our grateful thanks to all his former military colleagues and civilian coworkers who reached out and visited with Ron following his hospitalization and surgery last summer. Also, our grateful thanks to the exceptional care provided by Dr. Safraz Mohammed and Dr. Garth Nicholas of the Ottawa Hospital. In accordance with Ron’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A graveside interment will take place at the Oconto Cemetery on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 11am followed by a Celebration of Life and reception at the Goodfellow’s Funeral Home at 12pm.
