Obituary
Ronald James Potter
It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Ron Potter on March 03, 2022. He was predeceased by his parents James Potter and Audrey (nee Thrower), and his stepfather Arnold Ast.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Val; sister Donna; children Debbie, Peggy (and their families in Saskatchewan), Jodie (Phil) and Tim (Nicole); beloved grandchildren Blake, Lilja, Brody and Willow.
Ron was an avid sports fan and enjoyed going to the Selkirk Steelers games with Ken, Barney and Jody. He also enjoyed sharing tall stories with his neighbour Bruce.
Most of his working life in Manitoba was at Mandak Metals where he started as a cutter and finished his career as a supervisor. He so enjoyed the company of those there and was still in touch with some of his old co-workers until his passing.
The closest things to Ron’s heart were his grandkids and his dogs. He complained about the dogs all the time, but he would have them on his lap every day. His grandchildren put a sparkle in his eyes and they brought so much joy to him with every visit. He loved them all and his last wish was that they remember him in their hearts.
As per Ron’s wishes he was cremated and the interment will take place at a small family gathering in the summer.
In lieu of flowers if you wish to commemorate Ron’s life please feel free to make a donation to D’Arcy’s ARC.
Rest in peace my love, your journey doesn’t end here but starts a new beginning. We love you with all of our hearts and will see you again.
