Roger “Darrell” Salsman
1962-2022
It is
with immense sadness the family of Roger “Darrell”
Salsman, age 60, of Cambridge, announce his unexpected passing at home
on Saturday, November 12, 2022. Born on March 21, 1962 in Berwick, he
was the son of Violet Cleveland, of Cambridge and the late Roger
Salsman.
Darrell
was a carpenter for all his life. He loved playing guitar, getting
together with his friends and had a special fondness for cats. Above
all else, he cherished his time spent with his family.
He loved being an uncle and was very
proud of his nieces, grand-nieces, and nephew. He adored it when they
called him “Uncle DeeDee”. Darrell was a kind soul with a
big heart and to those who knew him well, knew how soft hearted he
really was. There would always be a tear in his eye when he spoke
about his love for his family. His most favorite person in the world
he called “MOM”.
In
addition to his mother, Violet, Darrell is survived by his sisters,
Leisa (Mike) Maillet of Halifax and Angela Salsman (Dwight Mapplebeck)
of Black Rock; nephew, Keegan Salsman (Madison Leblanc) of Somerset;
nieces, Kelsey Salsman (Darren McBay) of Coldbrook, Hannah Maillet and
Hillary Maillet, both of Halifax; great nieces, Summer, Georgia and
Evalynn; and special friends, Sonia Bruce and Dale
Goucher.
There
will be no visitation. A public graveside service will take place at
2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 2022 in Berwick Cemetery, Berwick.
Pastor Christina Bigelow officiating. Donations in memory may be made
to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the
White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. For
