Roger Cameron Huntley
1960-2022
With saddened hearts and loving memories, the
family announces the passing of Roger Cameron Huntley, age 62, of
Cambridge, Nova Scotia on August 27, 2022. Roger was born on July 3,
1960 in Kentville, Nova Scotia. He was a son of Carleton and Thelma
(Simpson) Huntley.
Roger was raised in New Minas, after finishing
school, he went to work at Hostess Foods where he met and married the
love of his life, Ardythe Lee Pudsey and Roger became a stepdad to
Michelle, Ardythe’s daughter. Years later, Michelle blessed
them with a grandson, Nathaniel and then a granddaughter,
Kendra.
Roger and Ardythe loved animals, they always
had a dog in their home, with Chief being the latest one and not so
long ago along came Taz, their cat, the name says it all! They built a
home in Cambridge and started making their memories together. Roger
was a loving and caring person; he would give you the shirt off his
back. Family and friends meant everything to Roger. Roger loved to
hunt, hunted for years and was finally rewarded with a buck. He loved
to go for rides on his motorbike and it took him awhile, but he
finally convinced Ardythe to join him. After that they had many
adventures together on his bike. Roger loved to have visitors or visit
family and friends to hangout, play cards, reminisce or have a meal.
Anyone that knew Roger knows that before the event was over Roger was
going to tell a story. Roger loved music, many times you would find
him and Chief on the back deck strumming on his guitar. He shared his
music with family and friends. Roger never travelled far from home but
did go to St. Louis with his brother-in-law, Richard to see an NHL All
Star game.
Roger was predeceased by his parents, Carleton
and Thelma; sister, Phyllis (Charles) White; brothers, Lionel and
Carson; and niece, Michelle Lynn Huntley.
Roger is survived and will be greatly missed by
his wife, Ardythe; stepdaughter, Michelle; grandson, Nathaniel;
granddaughter, Kendra; sisters, Patricia Harvie, Ontario; Nancy
Huntley (Richard White), New Minas; Pamela Huntley (Larry Powers),
Sparwood, B.C.; Deborah Huntley, Chester; and Angela Huntley,
Sparwood, B.C.; brothers, Blain (Vicki) Huntley, Kentville; and
Anthony (Carly) Huntley, Victoria, B.C. Roger had several nieces and
nephews that loved him, and he played with them just like he was a kid
himself.
