Obituary of Robert Bonham
It’s is with great sadness that the family of Robert John Bonham (Bob) announce his passing on July 25, 2022. In Lamont Alberta at the Lamont Medical Care Centre. He passed peacefully with his family at his side.
Robert was born on July 22, 1946 in Cambridge Ontario to Jean and Jim Bonham. He was the second born son. He grew up in Ontario where he spent a lot of time playing hockey. In his 70’s he still played and could skate better then he could walk sometimes. He was an avid part of the Oilmens Hockey tournament for more than 32 years. His career in the oilfield started when he was 17 years old and he went from floor hand up thru the ranks of on site engineer.
He moved his family to the farm outside Tofield in 1979, where his son continues to farm today.
Robert (Bob) grandpa will be sadly missed by his wife of 51 years Doreen Elizabeth Bonham; daughters Annielouise (Craig) Heffer, Linda Harper (Kurtis) Robertson; son Michael (Karla) Bonham; grandchildren Lacee Bonham, Dylin (Cailin) Danilak, Dawson Danilak (Cassidy), Keishon Harper, Kiara Harper, Austin Bonham, Annelynn Bonham, Jaymie-Lynn (Conor) McGill, Travis Luscombe and great-grandson Garrett McGill.
He was predeceased by his son Robert Henry Bonham (1993); father Jim (1998) and mother Jean Wakeford (2016) and step-father Roy (Mick) Wakeford (2013).
Memorial donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
A private family graveside will take place at a later date.
