Obituary of Robert Johnson
JOHNSON: Robert “Bob” –
A lifelong resident of Chatham, Bob Johnson passed away at the Windsor Regional Hospital, Metropolitan Campus with family at his side on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the age of 81.
Born in Chatham, Bob was the son of the late Wilfred and Marie (Hornick) Johnson.
Beloved husband of 58 years to Lorraine (nee Roy).
Loving father to Susan Hainge (Pete), Kenneth Johnson (Deb) and Janice Ardis (Tracy) all of Chatham.
Extremely proud Gramps of Michael Hainge, Michelle Lapp (Matt), Steven Hainge (Abbie), Chantel Dawson (Matt), Chris Lapp (Jada), Michael Lapp (Aiden), Brandon Ardis (Bre), Candise Ardis (Ben) and McKenzie Johnson.
Great Grandpa to Mason, Aubree, Keegan, Winry, Zoey, Nora and Virginia.
Dear brother to the late Gerald Johnson (late Marg), Audrey Young (late Cecil), Bill Johnson (Diane), the late Marg Bell, Jim Johnson (late Louella), the late Larry Johnson (Brenda), Lois Van Hooste (late Alfie) and Jack Johnson (Diana).
Special Uncle to his girls Shelley Jardine (Rob) and Sheila Balasin. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Bob dedicated his life to his family and was the “go to” for all family and friends. He was always there for moral support and will be remembered for his sense of humour and his unfiltered attitude.
A Celebration of life for family and friends will be held at the McKinlay Reception Centre, 463 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
Donations made in memory of Robert to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
