Obituary
Robert Lyman Biggs, age 63, of Eckville, AB., passed away peacefully at The Bethany Care Centre in Sylvan Lake, Alberta on December 21st, 2022 following a battle with Early Onset Alzheimer’s Disease.
Rob was born on June 11th, 1959 to Ray (Gary) & Iris Biggs in Pembroke, Ontario. He graduated from Champlain High School in 1977, in Pembroke, Ontario. After high school he attended trade school and graduated and attained his license to become a Heavy Duty Mechanic.
Rob moved out west to Calgary, Alberta in 1982, with a bunch of friends, to find a job in Heavy Duty Mechanics where he landed a job with Calgary Peterbilt. All his friends that he came to Alberta with, eventually moved back east, Rob stayed and became a westerner for life. In 1993 his good friend Dale convinced him to move to Red Deer, Alberta to work with him at Computalog Wireline. He remained a Heavy Duty Wireline mechanic and shop manager until his health no longer allowed him to work.
In 1995 Rob met Angie at his place of employment, they started dating in 1997, and were married July 11th, 1998. They lived in Sylvan Lake, Alberta until 2015, at which point they bought an acreage near Withrow, Alberta. They lived there until 2018 at which time purchased a home in the town of Eckville, Alberta where Angie still resides. Rob started residing in long term care in January of 2020.
Rob was predeceased by his paternal grandparents Lyman and Crystal Biggs, maternal grandparents John & Mina Cameron and his father Ray (Gary) Biggs.
He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years Angela (Angie) Biggs (nee Robb); Son Gary and his children Mason & Aubri Biggs; Stepdaughter Tanya Regnier & her son Kane; Stepdaughter Megan Regnier (Sean Wood) and their daughter Emmaleigh.
He is also survived by his loving & dear mother Iris Biggs; brother Mark (Donna) and their children Erik (Carmen), Jamie-Lynn, Camryn; brother Chris (Patricia) & their son Ryan, all from Pembroke, Ontario, & numerous other nieces and nephews and many in-laws that loved and adored him.
Special lifelong friends Tom & Patty Faught from Timmins, Ontario.
Memorial Service for the late Robert Biggs will be held at Withrow Gospel Mission on Friday, December 30th at 2:00pm.
